Who are we?
Gateway RSE (formerly TSP) was formed in 2009 in response to a rapidly growing demand for independent road safety auditing, primarily from transport planning and highway engineering consultancies operating within the property development sector, both in the UK and Overseas. Whilst this remains a key strength, we have extended our capabilities through collaboration and continuing professional development (CPD) to provide a broader road safety engineering service, including collision studies, risk assessments, and non-motorised and mobility assessments.
Wendy Palmer
Wendy brings a wealth of road safety and traffic engineering knowledge to Gateway RSE, gained through her experiences with respected multi-national consultancies such as WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, Connect Plus Services, Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald and Atkins. She has been actively involved in the planning, design, construction and operation of a wide variety of projects, being familiar with public sector practices and the delivery of professional engineering services. Wendy has carried out over 500 road safety audits and studies on the local and high speed road networks, both in the UK and overseas. Her spare time interests include cinema, theatre, gym, yoga and sailing.
Steve Giles
Steve is a chartered transport planner and highway engineer with over 40 years of experience in highway design, road safety engineering, traffic management and transport planning. His road safety experience includes over 500 road safety audits and studies, collision data analysis and the design of safety improvement schemes. Steve began his career in the Highways Department at Surrey County Council and has practiced in the private sector since 1990. Beyond working hours, he likes to go hiking and motorbiking, and is a long-suffering Spurs fan.
